FREDDIE (formerly Freybug, NYCACC)<br/>Sixty pounds of joy of living, with a heart of pure gold. Freddie, formerly Freybug, was adopted from the NYC ACC at Christmastime of 2025, after serving as their poster boy in a Santa hat. He was returned in April 2026 with the excuse of "no time" given, thirty pounds lighter—starving—and with a gaping open wound on his back hip. The ACC nursed him back to good health, and he was rescued by PoundHounds in July 2026.<br/><br/>Nothing could change this dog's love for humanity. He adores all people of all ages and sorts, wanting only to love and be loved. Freddie is completely housebroken and asks to go out when he needs to. He likes long walks in the country, rolling in the crass—still such a new thing for him, sleeping at his human's feet, and providing quiet company while you work. He enjoys lying on the sofa and watching baseball games on tv. His favorite things are ball games of all kinds, car rides (he is fonder of the car than any dog I've ever known), leash walking through own and greeting everyone, and sleeping quietly at the foot of his humans' bed. Freddie is happy to meet friendly dogs when they're properly introduced; he prefers larger dogs to small ones (though he will play with both), and female dogs to male ones. He knows a host of commands from the basic sit, stay, paw, wait, and come to game ones (fetch, drop it) and staying in place. We're working on heel, since he is a strong dog and good leash walker, but will sometimes pull in his wagging eagerness to say hello to people.<br/><br/>Freddie is an American Staffordshire / chocolate labrador mix, neutered, and up to date on all his shots including lepto and influenza. He has been a prince in terms of his behavior at both the groomer and overnight boarding. He likes a crate as his safe place now, and sleeps happily in one, rather than fearing it as a cage where in an earlier life he was clearly kept for far too much of the time. <br/><br/>Freddie is so ready to find his forever home, and bond to his own people. Please meet him if you are kind and active, and can share your time and exercise with him: he will be the perfect dog, and reward you with so much love. Freddie is currently in Woodstock, NY, and his foster mom will gladly bring him to a meet and greet.
