Fred in MO's Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Fred. I am 5 years old and weigh 41 pounds. Yep you read that right, 41 pounds! I'm a big sturdy boy! I need a new home because my owner passed away. I am being fostered in Springfield, Mo.

I love hanging out with the humans! When my foster parents go outside, sit down on the couch or go to the bathroom I want to go to! I also love to snuggle deep under the covers at bedtime.

I have a puppy personality even though I turned five at the end of May! I can run around the yard for what feels like hours and I get so excited to get attention, kisses and pets. I also have a habit of finding things that are not exactly toys to chew on. My foster mom is always redirecting me to my dog toys, but the crunch of hairbrush bristles is so satisfying!

I get along with all humans and I get along okay with the other Boston terrier in my home, but I would really be happier as an only dog. I grew up as an only dog before my owner passed away and I like to be the sole attention getter. Sometimes the older kids next door come over and play tug of war with me and rub my belly and I just love it.

I would rather not be in a home where someone is looking for a pet that is a delicate flower! I'm a big boy with puppy energy and I'm working on manners like not jumping on people. I get so excited when I see my foster mom I sometimes shall we say... rearrange her balance.

I need someone who is really wanting to be my friend! I love to spend time with humans. I love to be around them. I love to play with them and I love to snuggle up at night. I am definitely not a couch potato so I need a family who is excited to have an active dog.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? Yes
Leash-trained? Yes
Rides well in car? Yes
Good with other dogs? Yes but not as a housemate
Good with cats? Not yet tested
Good with young children? No because he is big and jumps but is great with kids that are a little older.
Good with strangers? Yes
Shy or confident? Confident
Barks? No
Apartment qualified? No
Any Special needs or Health Issues? No
Adoption Fee? $ 375

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
