VIP: Franny is a sweet girl who is about 2 years of age. She is a friendly dog who likes to explore. Franny went on a group dog walk to an area park with other dogs from the shelter recently. She harnessed well and rode well in the crate and did not utter a peep on the ride to the park. Franny walks very well on the leash and is a great walking partner. She got along with the other dogs in the group. Franny will stop and give you kisses and the volunteers said she was a great addition to the Pups in the Park program. She is heartworm positive but her treatment has been sponsored once in her forever home. Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment or application is needed. When asking about an animal, please provide the identification number that starts with A. Plano Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Adoptions are first come first serve. There is no application. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place. The criteria must also be met in order to visit with an animal.
