Frannie's Story
Hello? Oh, hi! My eyesight isn’t what it once was, but I can sure make out the lovely smile on your face as you look at my photo gallery.

I am a sweet, quiet, gentle senior lady looking for a home with someone who will care for me and keep me safe. Since my eyesight is failing, and my hearing is failing, too, I am looking for a “no surprises” home, where the humans will be gentle with me and not sneak up on me. Maybe around 12 yrs old, I am comfortable when humans approach from the side rather than head on, but that’s not a big ask, right? I am a world-champion napper, curling up in a comfy bed near you is my happy place. My foster caregiver has found that I have great manners and haven’t needed a crate. But no stairs, please.

I just remembered that I have another happy place! I really like to be outside, sniffing all the wonderful scents that drift by. Maybe we could sit together out on your patio? I’ll go for short walks, but I would enjoy going further if you would carry me, and maybe set me down occasionally by a tree. I would feel safe in your arms. I am housebroken, although with my advanced age, I will bark a little to remind you that it’s time for me to go out again. I can be a bit picky about my food; I eat kibble now but wouldn’t mind trying some new foods. Would you like a little companion to enjoy life with? And the satisfying feeling that comes from knowing you will mean the world to me? I have a lot of love to give!

Interested in meeting this dog?
Visit our website (https://www.sccrescue.org/) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
