Franklin's Story
Franklin has arrived in Maine and is coming out of his shell! Franklin is about 6 months old and a mixed breed boy- he looks like he might have some Border Collie in terms of his coloring but his fur is really sleek and he has really delicate features so we are assuming that he's got a good mix of breeds within. His foster says that he is doing amazing! She says: "Frankie update: This little guy is so eager to please. He is slowly gaining confidence and is able to ride happily in the car to visit his dog friend 10 minutes away. He has lots of puppy energy and adores playing with other dogs. He is able to walk around our rural neighborhood (slowly) as he has fear of cars driving by, loud noises and so many things is is not used to. He sticks close by as he wants to be with his people which gives him a sense of security. We are no longer putting him in a crate at night, as his bathroom schedule is pretty regular. No accidents in the last four days, but we don't wait for him to ask to go out, we take him out, and he discretely goes to the far edge of the yard to do his business. We have not seen any aggression at all, he is so gentle and tentative. He came with a fear of being touched on the head, but now trusts enough to let us rub his ears, neck and head. He has learned to sit, and his indoor manners are coming along. He will not want to be alone for a while, but I am sure in time will gain the confidence to handle that. ♥️"<br/><br/>If you think you might be interested in adopting Franklin or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website.
