Frankie's Story

Frankie the 10-year-old senior lady Great Dane with light fawn coloring and a darker mask recently found herself alongside her friend Luna at a small, overcrowded shelter at risk for being put to sleep. A rescue group in the area contacted Big Dogs Huge Paws and we have been able to place Frankie and Luna in a foster home together. Frankie has shown that she was given some training on walking on a leash and knows where good girls go to potty. The folks who turned her in reported that she did not do well with young children and had never been around cats. These gals were quite thin when they arrived at their foster home, had not had the benefit of any veterinary care and despite all of that, Frankie loves all the people she has met and the feeling is mutual! Big Dogs Huge Paws will make sure that Frankie receives all of the veterinary care that she needs along with plenty of love and food to show her a different side of life than she had been experiencing. We will update her story as she fills in a few more chapters on what she likes and how happy she is. Big Dogs Huge Paws, inc's Adoption Policy
Many of the gentle giants that come into our rescue have been neglected or abused. Others have simply been abandoned by their owners due to a divorce, a new baby, moving, or natural disaster. We are often told that they got “too big” or “too expensive” and many of the dogs below come to us with very little training. Despite their past, rescue dogs are incredibly forgiving and very eager to please. They have so much to give and are all very special. We are looking for forever homes and permanent families who will love their new addition unconditionally and give them the love and support they need and deserve for the rest of their lives. Adoption Requirements and Guidelines a. Applicants must have never been convicted of any animal abuse laws. b. All potential adopters must completely fill out and sign the adoption application and the information must be verified and approved by a BDHPI representative. c. All appli
