Frankie's Story

My name is Frankie and I am now in the care of a PAWS-OK foster (and my "finder"). I was running the streets in the rain in early July when a lady found me but couldn't keep me. I looked like a wet MOP! I had matts almost as big as my head, I smelled awful and was super skinny. Obviously I had been on my own for a while. The lady who found me couldn't keep me and that's when my foster parents stepped in. They called their good friend Mary at PAWS-OK and asked if I could be one of their rescues. PAWS-OK is traditionally a "cat" rescue, but occasionally they take in dogs in special circumstances - I guess that makes me "special"! I am a little weird in a few ways. Even though I am 9 years old, I don't know what toys are, or treats are either. I wasn't neutered when they found me and suspect I belonged to a breeder who dumped me. Mary groomed me and got rid of the matts. Then she took me to the PAWS-OK vet who neutered me, tested me for heartworm (neg), gave me all my vaccinations and cleaned my teeth too! Quite the spa day! I am really attached to my foster dad and sometimes "rumble" (not a full growl - no teeth) when people approach me because I am protecting dad LOL! My foster brother just looks at me and scoops me up off the ground when I rumble at him - and then I melt! I am a committed lap dog and will follow you everywhere. I am also crate trained and walk (pretty well) on a leash. I will take advantage of an open door so my new owner(s) need to keep an eye on me. If you are interested in me please contact PAWS-OK or complete a Dog Request Form at https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/dog-adoption-application

Pet Adoption and Welfare Services of OK (PAWS-OK)'s Adoption Policy
Adopting a new pet for your home is a big decision and should not be entered into without proper consideration of your lifestyle and the needs of the pet.  We are open to all lifestyles and believe responsible pet owners are a very diverse group of people. We require an Adoption Request Form to be completed on all potential adoptions.  The Request helps us to understand your pet experience and "cat personality" preferences so that we can help you select the cat that most nearly meets your expectations. If you are interested in any of the pets you see listed here you can complete an Adoption Request Form at: https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form If you are looking for a specific cat and you don't see it listed here, please e-mail us at pawsokrescue@gmail.com and leave us a detailed message about what you are looking for and we will see if we have one that meets your needs or direct you to another source for what you are looking for.
