Frank's Story

Frank is in Novato.

Meet Frank!

Frank is an incredibly sweet, adorable terrier and schnauzer mix with a heart as big as his personality. He is 2 years old and weighs about 30 pounds. He has been in a loving home and unfortunately his owner has had some major life changes, and he needs a new home. Frank has sheds very little and with his soft, salt-and-pepper coat, expressive eyebrows, and charming little beard give him a distinguished look that wins people over instantly. With his slightly long body and turned-out feet, Frank has an irresistibly unique and lovable appearance.

Personality
Frank is a gentle, mellow, and sensitive companion who forms deep bonds with his people. Once he loves you, he wants nothing more than to be by your side. Whether you're relaxing at home, heading out for an errand, or going on an adventure, Frank is happiest when he's with the people he loves.

He's smart, affectionate, and eager to please. His biggest joy in life is giving and receiving love.

Activity Level
Frank has moderate exercise needs and is happy with a couple of short walks each day. When he's ready for playtime, he'll happily let you know by grabbing his favorite ball, running around excitedly, and making a few cute little sounds to invite you to join him.

He's not a big barker. Most of the time he's quiet, but he may bark if he's uncomfortable around an unfamiliar dog, frightened by someone, or trying to tell you something important. Before barking for attention, he'll usually give a little whine to let you know he needs a walk or wants to play.

House Manners
Frank is fully house-trained. He's accustomed to having access to a doggy door, so he'll do best in a home where he has easy outdoor access or someone who can take him outside regularly. Unlike many dogs, he doesn't spend walks marking every few feet—he simply prefers having a familiar place to do his business.

Frank's Favorite Things
His people: Frank bonds quickly and deeply, becoming a loyal shadow who wants to be wherever you are. He's incredibly loving and thrives on companionship.

Walks: He walks beautifully on leash and isn't reactive to people or other dogs. The only thing that makes him nervous is loud traffic, especially large vehicles.

Cuddles: Whether it's on the couch, in bed, or simply sitting beside you, Frank loves to snuggle close and rest his head in your lap.

Playing fetch: He enjoys chasing a ball outside and happily brings it back for another throw.

Car rides: Frank rides calmly in the car, hops in and out easily, and is a wonderful travel companion.

Children: Raised with kids, Frank is gentle, patient, and affectionate with little ones.

Treats: Chew bones are a favorite, and tasty treats—especially jerky sticks—make training easy because he's such a quick learner.

Things That Make Frank a Little Nervous
Large dogs: Frank is naturally a bit timid around bigger dogs. He does well once he's had time to get to know them, but he appreciates slow, patient introductions.
Loud traffic: Large cars and trucks can startle him on walks. He may step back and watch them pass, but he recovers quickly and continues on his walk without issue.

Frank's Ideal Home
Frank would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and wants a devoted companion to share everyday life. He's the perfect match for someone looking for a loyal best friend who loves cuddles, enjoys leisurely walks and playtime, and will happily accompany them wherever life takes them.

If you're looking for a gentle, intelligent, affectionate dog who will love you with his whole heart, Frank may just be your perfect match.

If you are interested in Frank, please contact 937-469-4826 for information.
There will be a $400 donation payable to the rescue group for his adoption.
