Frank Hound Mix Fort Worth, TX

Frank-E, as we affectionately refer to him, is a sweet, young boy with a foxhound body and a basenji face. We estimate that he has reached his full height at 24 inches tall at the shoulder and he weighs about 60 pounds. We have him the birthday of March 8, 2022 and as a teenager, he loves to chew but if you give him marrow bones, Kongs, heavy ropes and rings…he will never steal your stuff! He is the happiest teenager and loves virtually everything and everyone! As with all young dogs though, keep valuables and stuffies out of his reach.

Frank-E rarely barks and has a soft “whuff” when he does! This guys is super expressive, will play all day and happily snuggle in with you in the evening! We really believe he needs a young canine companion, or a young owner that is willing to run, hike, bike and wear him out for at least another year or so to be sure to avoid any mischief from boredom! His favorite times are when kids have sleepovers and he has at least 4 boys to bounce between and play with…he is well socialized and will fit in with virtually any other pets. While we are not sure of breed(s), he may have some boxer in him with his goofy characteristics and the head wrinkles but we're not certain.

Please understand that Frank would do best in a home with a yard and another dog or two who like to play. He is not suitable for an apartment/townhome/condo situation nor is he made for a sedentary lifestyle. Frank finds tremendous fulfillment in being active and engaged and not left alone for hours on end. He loves his crate and 30x30 is the perfect size for him. Frank’s dream home would include someone working from home, or being home a lot or he would even go to work with you. His foster keeps a list of his favorite things to chew on and occupy his mind but nothing substitutes for personal attention. Frank E is loyal and endearing and will make the best friend to just the right person or family.
