Francine's Story

Francine is not the type of dog who quietly blends into the background. This little lady has arrived and she has opinions and is ready to make sure everyone knows who she is!

Francine is about 3.5 years old, weighs 16 pounds, and originally came to us after being found all alone as a stray and brought to a local shelter. While she was there, staff noticed some concerning episodes that they believed could have been seizures, and she was marked as needing rescue. When we heard about her we knew we wanted to give this little girl a chance so we rushed to bring her in and get her the care she needed.

Since arriving at our rescue Francine has been doing really well! We have not seen any seizure activity while she has been with us, though it is something potential adopters should be aware of. What we have noticed is that she was an incredibly itchy girl! Her vet believes her skin issues and patchy coat are likely related to a previous flea allergy from a bad infestation. She received treatment to help with the itching and now that the fleas are long gone we expect her coat to continue improving with time.

And even when she was uncomfortable, Francine's personality never took a day off! This girl is a total firecracker. She is playful, outgoing, and loves being part of whatever is happening. Francine has energy to spare and would happily spend her days exploring, playing, and making new friends. She loves people and is super engaging with her human friends, she's the type of dog who makes sure she gets noticed!

Francine does well with other dogs, especially those who enjoy a good play session and can match her energy. She can be a little much for dogs who prefer a quieter lifestyle, but a buddy who wants to run around and have fun would be right up her alley.

Francine has had a bit of a rocky start but you would never guess it from the happy, confident little dog she is today. She's got a big personality, a lot of love to give, and is ready to find the family who appreciates all the silly, spunky, wonderful things that make her Francine. Interested in this little lady?
