Fozzy Bear's Story

Young and stunning Hunter aka Fozzy Bear looks and acts just like a muppet and is looking for a family who is drawn to the silly lovebug kind. This boy is not going to be more than about 50 pounds though he looks larger because of his flowing locks. If you love goofy, in your face, ready to play and/or your kids have been begging you for another dog and/or your dog is depressed without a playmate, Hunter Bear is your guy.

Living with Hunter is kind of like living with a large puppy which is great because it means that he feels safe enough to kick up his heels. He never had anything to put his mouth on while being tied 24/7 so now he has learned to love toys. He can be found in the middle of the fray chewing on a dog toy or slipper-turned-dog-toy. He loves to bound around in the fields offleash with his foster brother Finnigan and the two of them play like soul mates. Fozzy loves other dogs and is an attentive pupil who defers to the other dogs when they tell him off. That's what pups do if they want to ingratiate themselves and this fluff does. And when he moves away from them, his whole body of fur flops side to side and his golden ears flap - that's when he's at his muppetty most.

Hunter's grandmother was a golden retriever but there are obviously other breeds mixed in there. He looks just like his father and his grandfather so it seems that the golden part shows up mostly in his endearing personality and his golden ears. In his current foster home, Hunter has shown that he welcomes cats, kids, dogs, men and women - he's an equal opportunist when it comes to attention. Foster school is teaching him the basics such as sit, come, wait as well as how to walk on a leash (work in progress), how to keep four feet on the floor (he loves to stand on his hind feet and open his front legs like a hug), and that humans value housetraining. Just like all newbies, he's catching on and the only time he's not overflowing with joy is when he's in the yard alone. When that happens, he has been known to sing a sad yodel of loneliness.

Hunter is looking for a puppy smart home who wants to not only love on this gorgeous, unique boy, but grow with him. There is nothing like getting to know a young dog who is a pleaser. Learning how to communicate is an important step in getting to know each other and Hunter is all ears. Continued training is imperative to build a strong bond and to help Hunter to become the solid citizen he can be. Hunter Fozzy is ready to join in at the cottage, at the beach, in the car, at the bar. He's ready for anything!

To welcome this beautiful boy into your home, fill out the adoption application at the link below.

Fozzy Bear is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated (DAPP and rabies). His adoption fee is $850.

Adoption process includes application, virtual home visit, phone interview, reference check, meet & greet, adoption contract and $850 adoption fee.

Fill out an adoption application below (copy the link below into your browser).

***Fill out the ADOPTION APPLICATION****
https://signup.ifaw.org/en-ca/northern-dogs-adoption-application-form
