Fozzie's Story

Meet Fozzie!

Fozzie is a 3-year-old, 20-pound Yorkie and Chihuahua mix looking for a patient, loving family to help him feel safe and secure. He may be shy when meeting new people, but once he warms up, he forms strong bonds and wants to be close to his favorite humans. He's the kind of little guy who would love having someone around much of the day to keep him company.

Fozzie has a wonderful balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddle time. He enjoys racing around the yard to show off his zoomies, then happily settles onto a lap for some relaxation. Belly rubs are a definite favorite, and he's always happy to soak up a little extra affection once he trusts you.

Fozzie also loves other dogs and would really enjoy having a canine buddy in his new home. Another friendly dog could help him feel more comfortable and give him a companion to share his days with.

Fozzie does have some anxiety when left alone. When his foster parents were away, he became distressed and paced, so we've started him on clomipramine to help him manage that anxiety as he adjusts. This medication will be temporary, but his future family should be prepared to continue working with him to help him feel comfortable when alone.

Fozzie hasn't had experience walking on a leash, so he'll need patience and gradual introductions if leash walks are part of his future. A physically fenced yard is required so he can safely enjoy his favorite outdoor activities, including those enthusiastic zoomies!

Fozzie came to Fur Fun Rescue from the same home as Morgi and Solly. He's now looking for a family who understands that shy little dogs sometimes need a bit of time to feel at home. Give him that patience, a cozy lap, a few belly rubs, and ideally a doggy friend, and you'll have a sweet companion who will reward your kindness with a very special bond.

Fozzie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.

Apply to meet Fozzie at www.furfunrescue.org

If you have questions, you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657.

Adopters must be within a two-hour drive of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Fozzie is looking for an indoor home.

Adoption fee $300.

Our dogs are all in foster homes. We require a completed application prior to meeting one of our dogs. The adoption application is on our website: furfunrescue.org. Once the application is received, we check the veterinarian reference if you have or have had pets. Then we contact you to set up a time to meet the dog. If, after meeting the dog you want to proceed with an adoption, we will run a background check, call personal references, and do a home visit. We always introduce our dog to any current pets. The final step is completing the adoption contract.
