Flora's Story

Flora is a sensitive soul who is looking to find a special home. She is 1.5 years old and we think may be a lab whippet cross at a perfect 45 lbs – she is tall and sleek. Flora would like to join a home with another dog, and bonus if there are cats! She is good with all furry creatures – she’s even lived kindly and gently with rabbits. Flora was born to a pregnant mama who was trying to survive near a riverbank living off the visits of kind souls who would bring her food. Flora spent her first 10 months of life in shelter, so she feels best with other animals. She worries about new things and loud noises so would like a quiet patient home who understands she doesn’t always feel safe. She does love big spaces, and quiet woodsy walks with her dog friend to help her feel safe. Her ideal would be a quiet rural property with a kind and confident dog bestie. Flora is spayed and vaccinated and is located in Nanaimo. If you think you might be a fit for Flora, please email us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a bit about yourself, and we can send along an application

PVCA Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our sister organization, the SPCA Puerto Vallarta, has a sanctuary, staff, trainer and medical team who work with the dogs and cats until they are deemed "adoptable". Once they pass their health exams, which include blood tests which certify they are able to cross borders, they are transported to Canada and/or the United States and enter foster or permanent homes. All our animals come sterilized, and fully vaccinated and dewormed. Our organization relies on the caring volunteers who open their homes and foster the animals until they are adopted. We do not have a sanctuary or shelter in Canada or the United States. Visits must be arranged and we prefer an adoption application to be filled out and approved before visitation.

Flora is from PVCA Animal Rescue

Our Mission
We are a committed group of volunteers who are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of neglected, abused, and abandoned animals. Primarily, all of our rescued animals come from the streets of Mexico.
