Fisher's Story

Meet Fisher! This sweet 90 lb, 8-year-old boy came to Arctic Rescue from Texas, where he was already waiting in a shelter before the devastating floods. His journey to Utah helped free up kennel space for displaced pets who needed a chance to reunite with their families. Now Fisher is hoping to find a family of his own.
Fisher is a gentle, easygoing guy with lower senior energy. He’s content to lounge nearby and watch the world go by, and his foster describes him as a bit of a daydreamer. He takes his time building trust and enjoys affection on his own terms once he feels comfortable. A patient home that lets him settle in at his own pace would mean so much to him.
He’s crate-trained and dog-friendly, and while playtime isn’t a big priority, he’s happy sharing space with other dogs. He hasn’t been tested with cats or children, but his foster thinks he may have potential with both.
One thing that brings out Fisher’s enthusiasm? Car rides! He gets excited when it’s time to go, then settles in once he’s on the road. Whether you’re heading out for a scenic drive or spending a quiet afternoon at home, Fisher would love to come along.

Please note that all Arctic Rescue dogs are marked “Needs Experienced Adopter.” Northern breeds often have higher exercise, training, and care needs, so adopters without prior experience are encouraged to research the breed before applying.

Apply to adopt Fisher through Arctic Rescue at arcticrescue.org/adopt.

Arctic Rescue's Adoption Policy
HOW OUR ADOPTIONS WORK: 1) We require all adopters to fill out an online application at: https://www.arcticrescue.com/adopt 2) We are a Utah-based rescue. All potential adopters must come to Utah and meet the dogs. We do not transport dogs. 3) We want to make sure that your home is the perfect fit for one of our dogs and vice versa. We want all members of the family to be happy and well matched with each-other, so require families to do a phone interview, reference checks, meet dogs and pass a home-inspection before adoption.
