Fig's Story

Written: 5/26/26
Updated: 6/4/26
Age: 6 years, Birthday March 2020
Weight: 40lbs
Breed: terrier mix

Meet Fig!

Fig is oh so social. Loves his humans. He is sweet, cuddly, and well behaved. He will go on long walks or cuddle with you for hours- very versatile. All he wants is to love you and be loved back! He is almost like a mythical storybook creature, truly a companion of a dog. His favorite things are snuggling, squeaky toys, walks, being outside, and being your shadow.

Fig would do best as the only dog in the home, but does great with kids!

He is quite literally one of a kind. His dashing fantastical looks match his personality. He is loyal, playful and smart. He matches your personality- will happily lay with you or play with you. Everyone asks what breed he is and tell his foster mom how adorable he is! He is house trained, working on his crate training and does well on leash but does sometimes pull. He is so smart and already knows sit, stay, come, down, leave it, crate, shake, and place! He does have an e-collar but barely needs it for the most part!

He is working on reactivity training while on leash with other dogs and doing really well. He will need a home with a patient adopter, no other animals, and someone who is willing to continue supporting his training. Sometimes loud noises when alone make him nervous and he misses his human a little when they are gone, but settles nicely. He is so loyal to his person and absolutely loves pets. This boy loves to sunbathe, play fetch, play with squeaky toys, and is ready for his furever home!

Fig is distinctly a creature. Hes like a fantasy heros perfect sidekick. He will be sure to get love from everyone in the room at once, have zoomies after treats, and show off his toys. He is ready to love you so so so so much!

He is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on core vaccinations, has been dewormed, neutered, and is on monthly preventatives. His adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of core vaccinations and coast of care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dogs age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Fig, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.

Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.

Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home!
