FIG's Story
Hi, my name is Fig I am a handsome boy (50% Bulldog & 50% Australian Terrier, 50 lbs., about 2-3 years old) Here is what my wonderful Foster Mom has to say about me.
Here is Your Future Best Friend! Fig is a big-hearted, goofy, affectionate dog who is ready to find a loving, patient home. He is wonderfully well-mannered indoors, highly food motivated, and full of personality. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will cuddle, make you laugh, and keep your heart full, Fig might be your perfect match.
What Fig Loves (and Does Really Well) - House trained and excellent manners indoors — a truly perfect indoor companion. - Crate trained, especially with a Kong to keep him calm when alone.
- Great work from home buddy — he rarely interrupts unless it’s potty time. - Cuddle champion —loves belly rubs, lap cuddles, and morning snuggles. - Sleeps in bed but stays politely on his side
once asked to “move.” - Leash walks nicely unless he sees another dog. - Good with people, though he is still learning not to jump. - Playful and silly in the evenings — tug, zoomies, and
chasing the laser light are his favorites. - Very respectful when corrected — he responds immediately to “no.” – Doesn’t run through open doors when told to stay. -Knows commands like “stay,” “wait,”and even shakes paws! - Loves boxes (with treats), greeting deliveries, and sniffing packages (it’s a
whole adventure for him!).
Fig’s Quirks (Things to Keep in Mind) - Does not tolerate other dogs or animals well — a dog free home is essential. - Gets overstimulated by animals on TV and sometimes needs the channel
changed. Though he does respond to correction when told “no” and comes to the couch for a dried liver treat. - Hates nail trims — requires a muzzle and experienced handling (mobile vet/groomer
recommended). - Likes to play with tissues or small trash items if available. - Doesn’t always come when called outside due to his love of sniffing and exploring. - Not a fan of the vacuum, crate +
Kong helps. - Nervous around unfamiliar objects at first but warms up once he gets a sniff.
Fig’s Ideal Home - Fig will thrive in a quiet home with a fenced yard - no neighboring dogs or heavy wildlife activity - Dog free household - Home with someone who works from home and
doesn’t have visitors bringing dogs. He has so much love to give - he just needs the right environment to feel safe and confident.
Why You’ll Love Fig - Fig is charming, loyal, goofy, expressive, and eager to bond deeply with his person. He’ll keep you company during the day, wiggle his whole butt with joy when you return home, and curl up next to you every night. He truly is a one-of-a-kind dog who will give back every ounce of love he receives.
