Yes, as long as they're taught to respect the dog’s belongings and boundaries.<br/>• HOUSEBROKEN? Not 100% yet. As rescues that lived on the street or tile/outdoor surfaces, they'll need some time to adjust. Most of our dogs adapt within 1-2 weeks of consistent training.<br/><br/>Fideos had already had his family. For a year and a half, he'd been loved, fed, played with, and kept — until the day his owner's landlord found out about the four cats and two dogs sharing her apartment and asked her to leave. Fideos isn't here because nobody wanted him. He's here because the person who did had no choice but to surrender him.<br/><br/>His rescue story started on the streets of Zapopan, where his foster Anayeli spotted him darting between cars on a busy avenue — dirty, disoriented, no collar. She pulled over, and Fideos hasn't had to fend for himself since. What struck her immediately was his temperament: "He was just 100% friendly from the moment we approached him." Not a shred of fear or aggression — just a dog ready to accept help and move on with his life.<br/><br/>And move on he has. In foster care, he's come to be active, happy, and completely at home in the world — the kind of dog who's had a real family life and shows it. He loves a good run in the park, chasing a ball, burying his nose in new smells. <br/><br/>Indoors he's affectionate and gentle, equally comfortable curled up next to you or co-existing beautifully and peacefully with cats. He's fully housetrained and brings an easy, uncomplicated warmth to everything he does.<br/><br/>Fideos has already proven he's a wonderful companion. Here's what to expect:<br/><br/>Because our dogs cannot return to Mexico if there isn't a good fit, we're extra thorough in matching each dog with the right family—ensuring lifelong success for both dog and adopter.<br/><br/>1. We arrange the flight to Oregon (included in fee) with weekly photo/video updates<br/>4. Airport pickup at PDX—pay adoption fee, receive medical records, welcome your new family member home!<br/><br/>📅 Timeline: 2-4 weeks for CDC/USDA paperwork and flight arrangement once approved<br/><br/>💲 Adoption Fee: $650 includes all of the following:<br/>Flight to U.S. • Spay/neuter • USDA import permit • Health Certificate •<br/>All vaccines (DHLPPi, Rabies, Bordetella) • Full blood work & health tests (CBC, blood parasite tests, parvo/giardia/coronavirus test) • Flea/tick/heartwork treatment & deworming • Microchip • Grooming • Collar, leash & ID tag<br/><br/>🏦 Payment: Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, or cash<br/><br/>Previous adopters often tell us the pre-arrival bonding process makes pickup day feel like welcoming home a family member they've been missing.<br/><br/>The Meximutt Project is 100% volunteer-run by a small team of dedicated animal lovers.
