Hello, I am Fergus!
Fergus the friendly. Fierce de-stuffer of fluffy toys and lovingly referred to by foster momma as “Big Sexy”.
People, let it be known that I’m a dog with swagger!

Fergus joined YLDR after spending an abysmal amount of time in a shelter - but his spirit remained jolly, and they didn’t give up on him finding a way out. After some decompression time in his foster home, Fergus’s personality began to shine through, and oh what a personality he has. Fergus has the kind of calm, relaxed, debonair self confidence you read about in romance novels. He can also be a complete goofball, prancing from person to person like a debonair show stallion.
Again... swagger.

Fergus loves to be with his people. That can be inside cuddling on the couch bingeing on the latest shows. Fergus is oddly fascinated by dolphins on television & loves nature programs. Fergus loves to roll around outside in the yard, or sit with you in the front yard and people watch as the neighborhood goes about their daily life. As long as he’s chillin’ with his humans, he’s delighted.

Fergus is crate trained, house trained, walks politely on a leash & is wonderful with children taking treats gently from even the smallest of hands. Fergus likes to play fetch… but will play tug until your arms get tired and is always game for a walk or a ride in the car. He’s also content should you need to be away, and showers you with affection & kisses when you reappear.

Fergus would do well in a household with older children, or dog savvy smaller ones. He’s currently in a household with twin 6yr old boys. He can be a 60lb zooming mass of excitement, not always particularly graceful in where he’s going, so smaller children need extra eyes when he’s on the zoom path. Fergus enjoys playing with a few dog friends in the neighborhood, so he may enjoy having a K9 brother or sister.
Cats are not recommended.

Lab Retriever/Pitt Bull Terrier mix. Fergus weighed 67 pounds.

Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
