Fergie's Story
Fergie
1 year, 35lbs
Rescued in the Southwest

Meet Fergie! This sweet medium-sized floof is as gentle as can be but still adjusting to post-rescue life. She loves other dogs and they help her learn gain confidence. Fergie has an affectionate dog inside that's just dying to come out, and needs an adopter who will allow her to blossom at her own pace.

Her foster says:

The higher the ears the closer to god!! Fergies ears are the cutest thing youll ever see. They stand straight up in the air like the bat signal wherever she goes. She also has the cutest birth mark on her tongue that shell proudly show off after an afternoon of running around the yard. I am so proud of how her confidence is growing every day. While she still gets up and walks away if I get too close to where she is sitting, she is learning to not be so afraid of movement in the house. I love that despite her fears, she follows me around and wants to be nearby. I know that when she's ready she'll come to me for pets and want to snuggle on the couch - shes just not there yet. Its remarkable how helpful my dogs have been for her confidence. When she sees me petting them, she comes over for a quick scratch behind the ear. Where I used to have to toss a treat to her, she now approaches me slowly and takes it from my hand. She has a long way to go but is making progress every day!

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Fergie, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE.
