Introducing Felicity!<br/><br/>When we said yes to this little girl we assumed from the photos she was going to be a senior with some longterm chronic eye disease. But shockingly under the matted hair and behind the messed up eyeball, she is just a puppy! Which makes what she has been through already in her young life even sadder. <br/><br/>She was brought to a local animal control in a carrier by someone who supposedly found her and she seemed pretty attached to . She was impressively urine soaked and matted down to the skin for such a young girl, but a happy playful puppy. She likely had some kind of injury or ulcer in her one eye that wasnt treated and led to a painful blind eye that needed to be removed- luckily her other eye is just fine so she can see on the one side. She loves to romp and play, is about 8 months old and 8lbs, and we think some kind of Yorkie/maltese/Shih Tzu mix. Very social and doesnt like being left alone, she loved when crazy climbing Champ would decide to climb into her ex pen with her and hang out with her and would do well with a playful dog that appreciates her energy (she has no manners or self preservation and tramples the cranky older dogs-maybe how she ended up with her eye to begin with). <br/><br/>Shes recovering in a medical foster now and will be looking for a home very soon... has been using wee wee pads but will need work on housebreaking and someone home with her more often than not. <br/><br/>Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Felicity in Northern NJ... she should be healed and ready for adoption later next week!<br/><br/>Times are tough right now in animal welfare- summer is deadly, many rescues are closing intake and so many homeless animals have no where to go. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
