He can be distrustful of men and reserved when meeting new women, but with patience and consistency, he begins to open up and form strong connections. Once he feels comfortable, his softer side comes through—he is affectionate, expressive, and very much a big puppy at heart.

Fargo has some anxiety and separation-related behaviors that will require structure, reassurance, and time as he settles in. He finds comfort in other dogs and would benefit greatly from a confident canine companion to help build his confidence.

He does his best to keep his kennel clean and will need continued support as he transitions into a home environment. Fargo enjoys walks and has shown interest in the cat room, though introductions to other animals should always be done thoughtfully.

Fargo must go to a home with experience handling extra-large, protective guardian breeds. This requirement is not negotiable.

Fargo is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm tested, and on monthly preventatives.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
