They said she hurt it while she was in her crate. They wanted her to be euthanized. The vet had them surrender the dog to them. They removed her eye and she was transported to WA to her new owner. While in the care of her new owner, she had to be seen by the vet because her removed eye socket was oozing and showing I think signs of infection. They re-checked it and it's fine now. The new owner changed her diet to RAW only. When she came into our care, we realized she went from 21.9lbs to ~ 16lbs since 01/01/16. The new owner stated she thought the weight loss had to do with the eye surgery and so she did not take her to the vet for that. Our vet found that she had pancreatitis. Vet believes she is intolerant of the RAW diet. She was treated, diet was changed, etc... She is now gaining weight and her newest bloodwork shows the pancreatitis is better. She needs to be fed a high-quality grain-free kibble with digestive enzymes. No RAW. She needs to have her weight monitored. She should be at least 21 lbs . Famke is spay/neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. When meeting new people, she will crawl right up to you and kiss your face while she tries to wiggle into your lap. Famke has the perfect balance of energy, even for such a young pup. She loves to go on walks, but she equally loves to snuggle on the couch and watch NetFlix. Famke really loves squeaky toys, just as long as she doesn't have to share them with another dog! This girl wants to be the Queen of the house. Famke would like to be the only dog so that she can be the center of your attention, however, she might consider sharing her home with a mellow, submissive dog. Famke does not need a yard, as she is just fine going on walks with you, but if you do have a yard, rest assure that she takes her job was Yard Protector very seriously against neighborhood kitties and squirrels! At night, Famke will sleep quietly in her crate next to he r Foster's bed, but she would very much like to sleep in bed with you, if you allow. But I must warn you, she has quite the powerful snore! Famke recently recovered from pancreantitis, brought on by a RAW food diet, which her body did not tolerate well. She is doing well now a high-quality, grain-free kibble, which we sprinkle with digestive enzymes. That is something you can readily find at your local pet store. We highly suggest keeping her on this diet.
