Meet Fabio
Meet Fabio!!
Fabio is a super senior (12+yo) 8lb Yorkipom (best guess)- he is one of the most unique dogs we have ever seen!
He has no idea he is a super senior - he is a very spry happy energetic little man.
Fabio is all love- he loves everyone- adult, kids and other dogs.
He is engaging and loves to be in the mix.
Unfortunately he has a few medical issues some easily resolved some not.
His vision is limited- he has a cataract in one eye and some old scarring in the other- he makes his was around so well its hard to remember he is impaired- once he maps his area he is great unless you move stuff around.
He has some very rotten teeth that need to be removed.
He also has renal disease. We started him on KD renal diet and are going to remove the rotten teeth and he would then be reevaluated 4 weeks post op with new labs, We have seen renal disease that has been halted and reversed once the rotten teeth are removed and a dog is on a good renal diet- but there is no guarantee- we are working to give him the best outcome possible.
He is scheduled for a dental and a neuter for 3/11. It will not hold back an adoption if the right fit is found and the adopter is local to stamford area or able to make return trip for surgery.
Fabio has no idea that he is older, vision impaired or has renal issues. He is just a sweet gentle happy go lucky guy who wants to cuddle and go for walks.
Someone abandoned this little guy when he needed them the most.
We don't know any expected life span for him- but then isn't that true of any living creature? Including us? We don't know if the renal diet and dental will make things better or stall things- but there’s a good chance it will.
There are unknowns- but the most important thing we do know is that Fabio will make your heart explode with love- he will brighten up every day he is with you and he would be forever grateful to be part of a family for the final chapters of his life.
