Hi, I’m Fabian... and I’d like to apply for the position of Your Personal Shadow. <br/><br/>I’m a 4-year-old, 15-pound Shih Tzu, and according to my foster mom, I’m just an absolute JOY to have around. <br/><br/>I’m what you might call a Velcro pup with manners. I’m not going to demand that you hold me 24/7 or insist on being the center of attention. I’m perfectly content just following you from room to room to make sure you don’t get lost. <br/><br/>Going to the kitchen? I’m coming.<br/>Going to the bathroom? Obviously, you’ll need supervision.<br/>Moving three feet to another chair? Hang on, Fabian is relocating. <br/><br/>I’m actually a pretty quiet little guy. The ONLY time my foster mom really hears me bark is when she starts preparing everyone’s food bowls.<br/><br/>Apparently, I have appointed myself Official Dinner Announcer. <br/><br/>“EVERYBODY STAY CALM! THE FOOD IS COMING!”<br/><br/>Once dinner is handled, I’m back to my regularly scheduled quiet programming. <br/><br/>I’d love a life filled with walks, car rides, lap time and simply being wherever my person is. I’ve been invited into the big bed a few times, but honestly? I usually hop right back down and curl up in my own little bed on the floor as close to my person as possible. <br/><br/>Toys? Eh. <br/>Wild puppy shenanigans? No thank you.<br/>Being your sweet little sidekick? Absolutely.<br/><br/>I do wonderfully with cats. I’ll walk over, give them a little sniff and say hello because, well... inquiring minds want to know. Once they move along, so do I.<br/><br/>With other dogs around, I tend to fade into the background rather than compete for attention. And children really aren’t my thing, so I’d be happiest in a home where I can enjoy a calmer, more grown-up lifestyle.<br/><br/>I’m also a perfect gentleman at the groomer. <br/><br/>When I came into rescue, I had flea dermatitis from not receiving proper flea prevention, so the skin around my back end is still healing. The good news is that with regular grooming and consistent flea prevention, this should not be an ongoing issue.
