Evie is a 2-year-old, 80-pound Great Pyrenees who came to us with her brothers from a farm. The dogs had been cared for, but they had largely been left to themselves, so Evie had to learn that people can be pretty useful for things other than filling food bowls.<br/><br/>She is gentle, sweet and shy. Evie prefers a quiet home and has absolutely no interest in fireworks, loud noises or squealing children. She is never going to be the life of the party, mostly because she would prefer that no one have a party in the first place.<br/><br/>Evie is bombproof with dogs and cats and would benefit greatly from having a confident dog friend to show her how things work. She will need a securely fenced yard and people who will let her settle in at her own pace. She is currently supremely suspicious of vacuum cleaners and door thresholds, both of which she believes deserve considerably more scrutiny than the rest of us have been giving them.<br/><br/>Evie may not want to accompany you everywhere or charm a room full of strangers, but she will be an excellent companion for a quieter life.
