Meet Evan

NYC Area -- Evan is a male Jindo/ Lab Retriever mix that is 6 months old and weighs about 20 pounds. Evan and Eric (his brother) came from a shelter in Gogju, Korea that had an accidental fire. These two survived the fire and thankfully they are both still such happy puppies. Evan is sweet, gentle, and affectionate! He’s also great with humans, dogs, and enjoy meeting everyone.

You can meet Evan at our adoption event:

Sunday, August 11th
Lazy Suzy Cafe & Shop
703 Hart St
Brooklyn, NY 11221
12-4PM

KK9R Adoption Procedures:

1. Complete an online application at koreank9rescue.org
2. Come to the event with a printed copy of your application so you can meet the actual dog(s)
3. Bring all of your human household residents
4. After meeting the dog or dog(s) you are interested in, get interviewed by one of our team members by handing in your application the day of the event. For dogs 1 year and under: 2:45pm is the cut-off time to physically submit your application and be interviewed for dogs under 1 year old, after 2:45 pm we will not accept applications or interviews for dogs under 1 year old (that includes puppies). For dogs 1 year and over: 4pm is the cut-off time to physcially submit your application and be interviewed.
5. We do not adopt dogs first come, first serve. We accept all applications for review and at approximately 3pm, make the placement decision based on who is the best match for the dog, not the human. You will be contacted ONLY if you are selected to adopt.
6. You must have the proper supplies before you can leave with the dog. Our dogs are a flight risk and must be fitted onsite. See our supplies list at koreank9rescue.org/resources for the exact items needed. We believe adoption is a privilege, not a right.

NO OUTSIDE DOGS ALLOWED INTO OUR EVENTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

BE ADVISED: Korean K9 Rescue does local adoptions within a 30-mile radius of Brooklyn, New York. Beyond this distance, adoptions are rare and handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us in advance to confirm if you are eligible/if the specific dog can be adopted outside of radius. Most adoptions are done THE SAME DAY of the event. Please plan accordingly!

Adoption Fee: Puppies $675.00 / Adults $600.00

NYC Dog License: $8.50. This is required for every dog living in NYC by the DOH.

Training Deposit: $50.00. This is a mandatory deposit for behavioral training because most of our dogs have endured trauma in their past. The deposit is fully refundable once the required training is completed for the adopted dog. Please check the list of approved trainers at koreank9rescue.org/resources for more information.

You must be 24 years and older to adopt from us
(all dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, & microchipped)

We believe people adopt rescue animals because even though there can be challenges, it is an extremely rewarding experience. As an adopter of a rescue animal, you are willing to accept the imperfections and baggage of an animal’s past and will work with them, train them, and love them for all that they are. Our adopted dogs who have gone to patient, loving families have had some incredible transformations, and we hope to provide each and every one of our rescues with this opportunity for a new life. We absolutely love seeing photos of our alums relaxed and smiling in their new adoptive homes, and we hope that you will consider adopting one of our pups and give them the opportunity to grow and find happiness with you.
