Essie's Story

Meet Essie

Essie is a 3½-year-old English Springer Spaniel whose journey to this point has been anything but easy. Before rescue, she spent her life running at large and having litter after litter of puppies. Despite that, Essie has remained incredibly loving and people-focused.

When Essie first came to us, she was suffering from one of the most severe cases of double cherry eye we’ve ever seen. She underwent surgery to correct it during her spay, but her road to healing didn’t stop there. After multiple follow-ups, Essie required a second procedure for entropion. Now, nearly six weeks later, we’re so happy to share that her eyes have healed beautifully. She may need ongoing monitoring and occasional eye drops to support tear production, but she can finally see the world clearly and comfortably.

Essie is currently thriving in a foster home with dogs of all sizes, young children, and even a cat. She does well with everyone, but what she truly loves most is being close to her people. She is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s by your side.

She is working hard on crate and potty training. While she’s not perfect yet, she has made great progress and continues to improve with a consistent routine.

Essie will need a home with a securely fenced yard, preferably with a taller fence, as she has a bit of an adventurous spirit. Leash walking isn’t her favorite, and she would much rather have a safe space to explore at home. She also experiences car sickness, even with medication, so she would do best in a home where frequent car rides aren’t necessary.

Essie is a special girl who has had a dedicated team behind her every step of the way. Now she’s ready for a forever home that will continue to give her the care, patience, and love she deserves.

If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to love and be loved, Essie might be your perfect match.

INTERESTED?

Start by completing the adoption application!
