Ernie

Ernie and his adorable ears came to Rusty's Angels Sanctuary in November with a previous hip fracture that is now healing. He loves to go for walks, but we like to keep exercise pretty relaxed - not too long and no hikes or anything strenuous simply to allow that hip to fully heal and to not aggravate his shoulder arthritis. So, if you like to stroll, that's his speed. Ernie recently had a full dental cleaning, is up to date on vaccines and is an absolutely adorable boy. The estimate for his age is 10 years; he is between 12-14lbs and absolutely lives for snuggles!!! This boy is curious, happy and enjoys being on laps. The only dogs we have seen him be too overly interested in are ones that are not yet spayed or neutered. Beyond that he gets along great with dogs and has done well with our sanctuary cat. He is potty trained. In the beginning we used a belly band until he adjusted and didn't need it after a couple days. All he wants to do is please the people around him, have some cuddles and calm adventures. Ernie is a bit of a barker, and he is wary of noises. His past is a mystery to us so he will need time to adjust into a new home. Ernie takes longer to warm up to men than women, he will need a male owner to be patient with him to give him time to trust.
