Ernest's Story
Whose that boy with the beautiful green eyes? It's Ernest! This adorable mixed breed boy (possibly Shepherd/Retriever/Hound mix?) is estimated to be about 10 months old and came into rescue when he was brought into the shelter as a stray. He's scared and shy in the shelter but very sweet and loving with everyone. He is submissive and sweet with other dogs and will likely make a great family pup. He's a puppy so will need some basic puppy training as he's likely never had the experience of living in the home as a beloved family member. He will also need a family whose schedule can accommodate the needs of a puppy. He's currently in AL but will be coming to Maine in mid-June.

If you think you might be interested in adopting Ernest or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters are placed on our email list for each transport and receive our Google slides that we send to all pre-approved adopters before posting on Petfinder and our social media and are eligible to attend our meet and greet events.
