Meet Eneo!!<br/><br/>His name means "worthy of praise". He is a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys the company of other dogs. <br/><br/>Before coming to us, Eneo spent over a year at the Chillicothe Animal Shelter after arriving on March in 2025. During his stay, he was selected to participate in Missouri's Puppies for Parolees program, where inmates work closely with shelter dogs on obedience, manners, and socialization.<br/><br/>As a graduate of the program, Eneo comes with a training journal documenting everything he learned. He knows commands such as:<br/><br/> - Sit<br/> - Down<br/> - Stay<br/> - Shake<br/><br/>And one of our favorites? If you lean down and say "Give me a kiss," Eneo will happily give you a little nose boop. <br/><br/>While it's been a little while since he completed the program, he has a great foundation and would love a family willing to continue practicing and building on the skills he's already learned.<br/><br/>Beyond his training, he is simply a wonderful dog. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes, enjoys being around people, and has the kind of easygoing personality that makes him a joy to have around. He is very adaptable to your routine, he loves cucumbers as treats!<br/><br/>After spending so much time waiting, Eneo is more than ready for a couch, a yard, and a family to call his own.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a friendly, trained companion with a heart of gold, Eneo may be your perfect match. <br/><br/>Apply to adopt:<br/> www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application<br/><br/>Basics: He is a neutered male guessed to be around 2 yrs old and weighs close to 34lbs. He currently with a foster in Overland Park, KS<br/><br/>Adoption Process: <br/>- STEP 1: Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application <br/><br/>- One of our team members will get back to you via phone. <br/>- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding <br/>- Adoption fee of $200 helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip. <br/>-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
