Emmy's Story

The biographical information provided is correct to the best of our knowledge while the animal is in our care or includes what may have been provided by a previous owner. We strive to be honest and accurate, but animals can change their personalities and behavior when they settle into a new home. IDR+ makes no guarantees based on the information we observe and provide.

Meet Emmy — a 2-year-old Bull Terrier and full-time chaos coordinator with a heart of gold and approximately zero understanding of personal space.

Emmy has been waiting for her forever home since June 2025, which she feels is extremely rude and honestly confusing because she is clearly delightful. She came into rescue in rough shape, but thanks to TLC, medical care, and her personal commitment to being wildly resilient, Emmy has made an incredible comeback and is ready to find her people.

Now let’s be honest… Emmy is a Bull Terrier. If you know, you KNOW.

She is goofy. She is stubborn. She is affectionate. She is occasionally shaped like a torpedo with legs and questionable decision-making skills. Emmy wakes up every day ready to party like she just drank three espressos and remembered she loves you more than anything in the world.

She enters rooms like she pays rent there. She believes toys are meant to be dramatically flung across the house. She loves attention and would like it scheduled hourly, minimum. She also believes sitting directly on top of you is a completely reasonable expression of love.

Emmy needs a home with someone who understands Bull Terrier energy — or someone brave enough to Google “Why is my Bull Terrier like this?” at least twice a week. Breed experience is strongly preferred, but we will also accept applicants who are prepared to live with a hilarious, determined, emotionally expressive goofball who occasionally forgets how gravity works.

She has been working hard on her manners and is improving every day. Emmy is smart, people-focused, and eager to bond with her humans. She thrives with structure, training, and someone who appreciates that Bull Terriers are less “obedient robot dogs” and more “lovable cartoon characters with strong opinions.”

Emmy loves her people BIG. Like… aggressively enthusiastic, whole-body-wiggle, possibly-knock-over-a-throw-pillow kind of love. She wants to be involved in everything you do, whether you invited her or not.

Her ideal home is one that:
• Enjoys laughing daily
• Has patience and consistency for training
• Understands that Bull Terriers are a lifestyle, not just a pet
• Is ready for a loyal, hilarious, slightly chaotic best friend

If you’ve ever looked at a Bull Terrier and thought, “Yes, I would like to share my home with a stubborn, affectionate, egg-headed comedian,” Emmy may be your soulmate.
