Emmett's Story

Emmett is a sweet and lovable black Labrador Retriever and American Pitbull mix. He loves squeaky toys, any affection from anyone, especially belly rubs, going everywhere with you, wearing cute outfits and sniffing his surroundings. He is pretty easygoing when it comes to exercise and only needs about an hour a day. If you're more active he can tolerate maybe 2 long walks/ play sessions a day. He's a lazy boy at heart and takes naps easily. He is between 4-5 years old as he was found as a stray 2 years ago, we don't know his exact age. He has passed basic obedience training and walks well with his commands. He's easy to bathe and keep clean. He is very smart and food motivated to learn new tricks or behaviors you want him to learn! He is very good being left alone at home and understands hard boundaries if you set them.

Emmett is kennel trained, potty trained, up to date on his vaccines, neutered and dog friendly. He enjoys playing with his friends at the dog park and has fun running around and socializing with other dogs. While he is not currently in a foster home with another dog, he may be able to live in a home with another dog if introduced correctly. He has a history of being protective of high value bones so feeding special treats in his kennel with another dog in the home is best for his success.

He has a history of abuse so he can get a bit anxious around a lot of change but he is very brave and will communicate with you. He just wants love!

Please fill out a Statement of Interest for Emmett if you would like to meet him!
