Emma's Story

Meet Emma, our resident giant dane!
Emma is a cautious gal when she meets new people, but warms up very quickly. She is friendly with everyone she meets, has a prior history of being around children, but of course, sometimes forgets how big her body is. She is a big fan of car rides, enjoys climbing in your lap if you are sitting with her on the ground or floor, and Nyla bones are her favorite toys. In her prior home it was reported that she is house-trained, but is not crate trained to be left alone. She has a very calm and gentle demeanor, which everyone here is falling in love with. There was another dog in her prior home who she did well with until changes in the home caused tension between the dogs. She has had no experience with cats but with a history of bringing small animals inside, we feel she should live in a cat free home. This girl is also learning the skills of walking on a harness, so she needs an adopter willing to continue that positive reinforcement training with her, and a fenced in yard would be a bonus (but not a requirement).

A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Emma's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about her, and to determine if you should meet Emma.
