Ellie's Story

Meet Ellie

Ellie is a 6-year-old girl who somehow still looks like a total puppy-and yes, she knows how cute she is. Every morning she greets you with the sweetest little "woo-woo" howl, and honestly, it's the best way to start your day.

She's more on the chill side overall, but she does need regular walks and movement to stay happy and balanced. Once she's had that, she's perfectly content lounging next to you or soaking up all the cuddles (which she absolutely loves).

Ellie is great with other calm dogs and has been doing really well with her foster's pups. She can get a little overwhelmed by high-energy dogs, so she'd do best with a more laid-back companion or as your one-and-only. Slow introductions will set her up for success. She has no people aggression and is just a sweet, affectionate girl. Kids and cats are unknown.

She's not a picky eater and is currently on Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach. She does get pretty excited at mealtime, so she's fed separately to keep things calm. One of her quirky traits is that she LOVES water... maybe a little too much, so that just needs to be monitored.

Ellie is potty trained (learned the doggy door right away!) and does great in a crate. She's not destructive, enjoys a good chew treat, and will occasionally play with soft squeaky toys-but she's not over-the-top playful. She's more of a "hang out with my people" kind of girl.

She's smart and picks things up quickly, but she does have a stubborn streak (we all love a little personality ). She's currently working on leash manners, "place," and "down," and doing great as her confidence builds.

Ellie can be a little unsure in new situations (especially in the dark), but with some guidance and reassurance, she works through it beautifully. Because she can be a bit flighty at times, a fenced yard would be ideal-but not required with continued training.

She may have some mild allergies (itchiness/dandruff that's already improving), but otherwise she's doing great.

If you're looking for a loyal, snuggly, slightly goofy best friend who will stick by your side and make you smile every single day-Ellie is your girl

Animal Angels Network's Adoption Policy
Animal Angels Network uses a foster-to-adopt model to ensure the best match for both the dog and adopter. We require a minimum two-week commitment to allow the dog time to decompress and adjust. After that period, adopters may choose to finalize or request the dog be moved. All applicants must complete an application and may be subject to reference checks. Adopters sign an adoption contract, and all dogs must be kept as indoor pets. If an adopter can no longer keep the dog, it must be returned to our rescue. Our goal is to create safe, successful, and lasting placements for every dog.
