Ellie is a 5-year-old, 68-lb Labrador/Hound mix who’s ready to leave her past behind and step into a brighter future. For her first four years, she lived as a neglected backyard dog and then as a stray — so home life is new to her. But Ellie is resilient, joyful, and determined to succeed!<br/><br/>She’s been thriving in a live-in training program, learning the skills she needs to be a wonderful companion. Ellie is crate-trained, good on leash, and knows her commands (sit, down, place, recall). She’s dog-friendly, has no prey drive, and never guards high-value treats. She loves swimming, off-leash adventures, and showing off her goofy “somersault” move when she’s happy.<br/><br/>Ellie’s adoption includes required training sessions to help her transition smoothly and maintain her progress. She’ll do best in a calm, well-organized home with active, dog-dedicated humans who can continue her training and give her the love she’s been waiting for.
