Ellie's Story
It's no stretch to imagine that Ellie grew up in a loving home with her person by her side. It may not have been much, but there was care, companionship, and purpose. True to her breed, she is a girl who likes having a job, and we imagine she happily looked after her person just as they looked after her. Her caregiver probably worked away from the home, not a problem for this house-trained lass who is comfortable spending time alone.

Ellie (fka Eileen) will never tell her age, but we expect that she came to Frosted Faces Foundation in 2025 as a young senior of about 8 years old. She enjoys good walks and playing ball is one of her favorite pastimes. Whether indoors or outside, she absolutely loves her toys. She'll gently paw at you for attention and happily encourage interaction when you're willing, especially during those quiet evening hours before bed. And she does not mind cuddling up in her crate to rest.

Ellie has enjoyed several short term foster homes, the most recent who shared:
"Her personality is a joy. She is always in a good mood, ready to take a walk, and fun to have in the house. She gets very excited sometimes, and even got the zoomies one night, running back and forth for several minutes. But this is rare, as most of the time she wants to be on the couch with you, or at least nearby, and she likes belly rubs and head scratches."

Ellie is intelligent, eager to learn, and thrives on consistency. She knows her basic commands, quickly picked up "place," and learned loose-leash walking with structure and patience in a foster home. While Ellie probably did not have experience socializing with other dogs in the past, she does well with reading the energy of calm canine companions during walks.

Today, Ellie is back at Frosted Faces Foundation. Whether her world was once much smaller or shelter life is just too overwhelming, she finds it difficult to relax in this setting. Our staff and volunteers work hard to provide structure, comfort, and enrichment, but for a loyal German Shepherd who longs for a person of her own, nothing compares to the stability of a foster or forever home. Ellie doesn't need perfection-but she does need someone willing to offer guidance and routine.

Ellie will repay your kindness with unwavering loyalty, devotion, and gratitude. She's ready to dedicate her heart to the person who gives her a second chance.

To meet Ellie, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
