Ellie Shepherd Mix Conover, NC

Ellie is with an owner that needs to rehome her. She is not with Hartman's Haven. We are posting to help find her the perfect home.

Ellie - located in Connelly Springs, NC, to be re-homed asap.
Ellie was dumped at our place almost 3 years ago, already full grown so her true age is unknown - our guess is 4-5 years old. We had her spayed, microchipped, and all vaccines up dated.
Ellie is house trained, uses a dog door, crate trained, prefers spending time outside, and has a lot of puppy energy still. She is a great guard dog, very loyal, loves people and is sweet natured.
She still jumps up to greet people so may knock small kids over but it's all out of love.
She does fantastic with other dogs and has no issues with our cats. She does have a strong prey drive and will chase chickens/wildlife/cars when she is over excited. This is her only downfall and doesn't fit in our lifestyle. She had a camoflague collar on when she arrived and may make a decent hunting dog.
A vet reference is REQUIRED and will be checked.
We believe she had a bad past before coming to us and still occasionally shows signs of previous abuse such as cowering and submitting. She deserves a good home. Everyone that meets Ellie loves her instantly.
