Elle's Story

Age: 5 years
Weight: 12 pounds

Elle (called Ellie affectionately) is a mini Aussie whose previous owner drove all the way to Kansas to get her from a breeder during the pandemic. After his passing, she is looking for a new home that also has a love of the breed. She is a working dog compacted down into a 12 pound frame. She is an independent thinker. She will follow commands, but she is particular about being touched. She likes it on her terms and can sometimes change her mind as quickly as a cat. She does have a bite history and therefore should not go to a home with children.

She needs a home with a fenced yard because her favorite thing in life is to chase down a frisbee that you throw for her. She is very well house trained. She does well on a leash on walks and is not at all reactive to other dogs.

She is currently in a multi dog foster household, but you can tell she would prefer to be the only dog because the other dogs either get in her way when she’s trying to chase a frisbee or want the same treats that she wants and she is willing to get in a scuffle over it. She likes to chase squirrels and birds in the yard and so we would not recommend her in a home with cats.

She is a beautiful dog and despite being the size of a toy breed, she is in her mind a working dog. If you are interested in adopting her, please visit our website smallchancerescue.com to get a copy of the adoption application and then email that to us.
