Ella - NEEDS FOSTER OR FOSTER WITH INTENT TO ADOPT's Story

Ella is a 3 yr old, 98# female great pyrenees (or mix) coming up to MN on Sunday, May 24, and she needs a foster home to welcome her. Someone that will foster her until she gets adopted, knowing that the foster would have the first opportunity to adopt her. Once Second Chance committed to taking her into our program, she went into a temporary foster home in Texas, so we do have some information about her.
Ella is housebroken, and is still working on crate training but is doing well. She will cry at first but then settles down. At night, she sleeps on the floor of the foster’s bedroom. Doesn’t have any favorite toy, but does enjoy soft chew jerky. Ella must have a secure privacy fence that is at least 5 ft high – she climbs/jumps a chain link fence – she’s quite agile. Ella responds to commands to sit and lay down, is leash trained, and loves to snuggle. Gets along with other dogs in the foster home - not sure about cats or kids but she is very calm and well behaved. Very friendly with new people she meets. Ella does not like to be separated from her people - her fosters have been working with her on it and crate training and she is doing very well. Ella will still need training to continue to help her know she won’t be abandoned again – someone that works from home or is otherwise home much of the time would be ideal.
Ella will already be spayed, and current on distemper, rabies and bordetella vaccinations. Second Chance will provide the food and supplies necessary to care for her until she gets adopted. Pre-approved medical care will be covered by Second Chance. If you have any questions, or would like to foster Ella, please call 651-771-5662.
