Meet Eli! This stunning pup has found his way back with Full Circle Rescue after a 3 year adoption through no fault of his own. Eli is a very affectionate dog who is loyal to his people. His past adopters describe Eli as the most loving, affectionate, and is perceived as a BIG puppy. He needs a home with no other animals and a fenced yard. He is fully accustomed to an indoor home environment and is well trained, he is also quite well adjusted to children of all ages. Eli loves going on walks, he would do best in a mellow home as he would easily match the environments energy. He is a resident lover boy who will definitely fill the hearts of people he meets. Eli's ideal adopters would be one that can commit to giving him the love and care he is used to. Eli is a wonderful and sweet dog, he would benefit from someone who has experience with handling larger breeds (he pulls slightly on walks) and ones that will commit to enhancing his obedience training. He can be dog reactive which means his future family will take the time to work on environmental and social exposure with other dogs around. Eli has had a negative interaction with another dog in which had approached him off-leash onto his property, during this conflict no dogs were hurt. Eli simply was protecting his property when the dog came into his space unannounced. Eli's future family will understand that they will need to provide Eli a safe space and proper obedience training so he can understand social boundaries with other dogs with proper introductions. Foster Update! : Eli, or as he is affectionately known by his human foster brothers, as Hippo, is a laid back, loveable couch potato. Eli is most happy with his humans, but can spend the day relaxing and sleeping while his foster Mom is at work with no destruction to the home. Eli loves going on short walks, and will "roo" to let you know that he is excited to get some fresh air! Eli is currently working on his leash manners, but he has already come so far in the short time he has been with his foster. When Eli sees another dog on a walk, he will whimper to let you know he has seen a dog- even if its a statue! Eli will require an adopter who is comfortable in handling large breed dogs for this reason. Due to his reaction to other dogs it is important that Eli be your one and only, and that his future adopter knows that he will likely need patience and training around social boundaries with other dogs. Eli knows many commands including sit, stay, off, down, paw and come. He is very responsive to his foster Moms commands. Other than his quick chats to let you know he's excited, or a bark when someone knocks on the door, he is a quiet, watchful companion. Eli loves getting pats, and is a total snuggle-bug. Eli adores children and lets his human foster brothers play with his jowls, lay on top of him, and give him bear hugs. Dont let this big boy's size fool you he is a total puddle of love. Eli is completely house trained, and many mornings would prefer to stay snoozing than go outside! Eli has won over the hearts of the whole foster family in a matter of days and would do great in any home that can show him the love, care, and learning that he deserves.
