Adopting Through Big Paws K9 Foster House When you adopt a dog directly from us, here’s what to expect: Adoption Fee: $350- modified fees considered when appropriate This includes full veterinary care, spay/neuter (if needed), vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing/prevention/treatment. Application Process: All potential adopters must complete our adoption application, reference checks, vet history verification, and home assessments . . This helps us ensure a good fit for both the dog and your household. Requirements: Breed experience or knowledge is required for certain breeds. Secure, suitable fencing is required; photos must be submitted with your application. A clear plan for training and integrating the dog into your home must be provided. Veterinary reference checks are conducted to confirm that all current or past pets are/were: Up to date on vaccinations On heartworm prevention and tested regularly Spayed or neutered Home Verification: We verify homeownership or landlord approval to ensure that pets are allowed at the property.
