Echo's Story

Hi, my name is Echo! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Attentive, intelligent, energetic
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history - recommending kids 12+ at this time. Up to counselor's discretion.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need slow/supervised introductions.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes - Echo lived successfully with dogs in his previous home and would likely do well doing so again. All introductions done at WHS to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can do Apartment Living: No thanks
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No
-Energy Level: High!
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, neuter/MC

Meet Echo - a gentle, intelligent aussie who is very in tune with and attentive to his person. He's energetic, active, and would do best in a moderately active home that keeps both his body and mind engaged. While we aren't requiring an adopter to have breed experience, we highly recommend doing some research prior to adoption, as herding breeds are very active and have quite specific needs. Echo would be a great fit for someone looking for a loyal, adventurous dog to be their co-pilot! If you think that might be you, please fill out an application for review.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
