Echo's Story

Meet Echo is a 7 month old Shiba Inu She’s a Velcro dog and loves being your little shadow. She’s definitely a cuddle bug when given the opportunity.

Echo is mostly potty trained. She’s very good about letting you know when she needs to go out, but struggles to hold it when left alone. We’ve started crate training to help with house breaking. She’s taking to it well, and has even started hanging out in there on her own. She can be a little mouthy when over excited or tired, but is easily redirected to toys and calms down when placed in a room or the crate to chill out.

Echo had a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) on her right hip back in August, and is working on building muscle in that leg - walking up and down hills has been recommended to help. She limps occasionally, but it doesn’t slow her down! Her zoomies are typically a full sprint, with all four legs being used. She allows gentle manipulation and stretching of the leg most of the time and will let you know when she’s done. For more information please contact Celina at 615-354-3531.

PS If you are interested in adopting please fill out an application on our website at www.spcatn.org
