Dutchess

Dutchess is a full blooded 9 month old Tibetan Spaniel (Tibby), around 12 pounds. Here is a little about the breed: Tibby's are very cat like. They like to climb and create mischief and some can be huge escape artists so a secure fenced in yard is a must. <br/>The Tibetan Spaniel (Tibby) is not a well known breed in the USA, but the breed is over 2000 years old and gaining popularity. A Tibby's coat is very like a Golden Retriever. Very little trimming is needed, a scissor snip here and there is usually fine. Dutchess was born 10/4/2025 and still in puppy stages. <br/><br/>Dutchess is a smart, soft dog and did not do well in the environment she spent her first 8 months in. She needed a lot more attention than she was getting and got lost in the herd.<br/><br/>In her foster home, Dutchess has blossomed from a very fearful, timid dog, to a happy member of her foster family. She is fine with other dogs, and cats. She is crate trained and about 99% potty trained so she still needs some work there. She comes when called for a treat and is learning Sit. She has learned the dog door like a pro. <br/>Dutchess still has fear issues. She needs a family that can be patient but stern. No small children because she will panic if picked up incorrectly. Older children are fine. Fear also makes her a flight risk so she needs a fenced yard and to be on a leash when out . She has so much to offer but the first two weeks will be hard as she transitions so she is going to need people who are patient.
