Emails are not always responded to immediately!!!<br/><br/>Medusa (typically called Dusa) is a 2 yr old Cane Corso (mix?) that came to us after some family dynamics changed, wasn't no fault of hers. The daughter, of the owner, and her fiance moved back home during her pregnancy while fiance was deployed. The owner felt that too much was going on and didn't think it would be fair for Dusa. <br/>Dusa is small for the breed being around 60#. We are told she was purchased as a purebred but some questions do come to mind with her being small and certain features, like the head do not quite resemble the breed very much. Dusa is a sweet girl once she gets to know you and loyal companion but that companionship takes a little bit to build with her. Owner admits that she was not socialized much as a pup and generally was put outside when guests came or put in her crate. She is not mean at all, just reserved and submissive when greeting others. In her foster home, she took about 3-4 days to start opening up and not slinking around with tail between the legs. Now she plays with the dogs and cats, she follows her foster parent all around. She loves sleeping in bed with you but is a little selfish when other animals want to get on the bed too. Nothing aggressive just vocalizing her dislike that she doesn't get the bed to herself, her foster mom generally encourages Dusa to lay next to the bed on a doggie bed or she goes to lay down in her crate. <br/>Dusa is housebroken (she does do "scared pee" sometimes when she is nervous), she has been accounted, she has been microchipped, tested for Parvo/Giardia/Coccidia/Heartworm and is negative for all. Dusa is only needing spay which we have scheduled for first part of September. <br/>An ideal home is a quiet one, older children 12+ yrs old. She is ok with younger ones but gets a bit rambunctious and will knock them over. Possibly another dog or opportunities to play with other dogs. She needs daily exercise. Even though she is smaller, she is not ideal for a townhouse, she needs room to move. She does need to be leashed, she will run off, she does respect physical fences, she probably will not respond well to invisible fencing as owner claimed they tried an electric training collar and she freaked with the low vibration. <br/>We are looking for someone with experience with the breed or similar breeds. This breed is typically not accepted for ESA in apartments or similar. Preferred that potential adopter(s) have a house with a fence. Will be asking for vet reference to prove experience with the breed, not growing up with them as your parents did most of the training.
