Duke's Story

Introducing Duke!

Duke, a 17 month old blue Merle, is ready to meet his new family! He was surrendered by a loving couple that is having to deal with serious health issues which made it impossible to keep Duke. They entrusted ARMA with finding the perfect home for this sweet boy, and we know he’s going to make a great addition to his next family. Duke is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and housetrained.

Duke is a little shy with people, and needs just a few minutes when greeting strangers. He is a very loyal and devoted pup who really just wants to be with his people. He’ll go everywhere with you - while he is nervous in new situations, if his new family helps build his confidence, he will blossom.

Duke is a little overweight - maybe because being a love bug doesn’t take much energy for him! He loves wading and swimming in creeks and rivers though, and he likes to go for walks or longer hikes. He’s going to be a great companion for someone who loves nature and being outside. While Duke isn’t a huge fan of car rides, he’ll go with you without question, happy to get in and out of the car.

Duke crates beautifully, and loves having a soft bed to sleep in. He’s a quiet and sensitive boy who gets along with other dogs. Duke communicates clearly with other dogs and will tell them he does not want to interact, but then just moves away. With the right dog he will play, but Duke really is about his people.

If you are interested in adopting Duke apply at
https://aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/applications-2/
