DUKE's Story
You are at the right spot when looking for the almost perfect dog.
Duke is a great young dog that is very loving, a bit sensitive at times, but tries to be happy all day long.
Loves people, loves dogs.
Does very well in a group. Pretty cute how he plays and watching him you can see how he is shaking his past off and jumping in excitement about a great future. He is also able to run alone in the yard and just bounce and be happy for no specific reason.
Duke was rescued out of the euthanasia room in a Texas shelter and is now looking for his forever home in Illinois.
He is eager to learn and wants to please you. Hardly barks and does not mark.
The first few days when he did not know the routine here, he had some accidents, but we are over it.
Since he came in 30lbs underweight, he is very food motivated. That also means he will probably check the countertop for your meal.
That’s the only thing I see with him right now that needs immediate attention.
If you adopt this guy and attend training with him, he will graduate as top in class.
He wants to be obedient, he just has never been taught anything. We are working on that.
He also didn’t know stairs, he is mastering those fast now.
He got his nails done today and while he had no clue what all this was about, he did not get mad about it.
I am very happy that I pulled him off death row.
He will be a great dog and make his people happy and be the big shoulder they can lean on when having a bad day.

PS.: He was listed as a Rottweiler blend at the shelter. His paws look like they belong to a Doberman and his double dew claws suggest that he is actually a rare breed from France, the Beauceron.

No adoptions further than 50miles of Elgin, Ilinois. Sorry
Please join Doggy Has It on Facebook to watch his videos,
