Duke is a very handsome 8 mo 50# Aussie mix. He has a great temperament and moderate energy level.

Duke most prefers to be at the feet of, or snuggling right beside, the people in his life. He can usually be found snoozing under their desk, chewing a toy nearby, following them from room to room, or being goofy asking for cuddles, hugs, and kisses when it's time to relax before zonking out pretty quickly. Duke is still working on not being too mouthy, though, when playing with or receiving hugs & kisses from people.

Duke is very friendly and gets along well with everyone - people and dogs of all sizes. He did great at the dog park and is quickly gaining more confidence playing with other dogs.

Duke still has some of his puppy habits. He will need some patience and correction as he learns what is okay (and not okay) to chew, that potty is always outside, not to jump, and how to walk well on leash.

Duke enjoys hanging out in his crate w the door open just fine and is generally a very quiet boy, but he does not like to be left and becomes a bit distressed & vocal - when either closed in the crate or just in a separate room - so he may not be best suited for an apartment or shared-wall building. He does seem to calm down and be okay after some time though, and to have an overall healthy attachment. So far, the few times his foster mom has left him crated and returned he's been laying in his crate upon return and makes the most adorable little joy noises upon being reunited!

Duke does great in the car, has slept through the night (in bed), and is a generally low-key, easy-going, along-for-the-ride kinda guy!

Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
