Duke's Story

Duke is a sweet, affectionate little guy who was found as a stray and is estimated to be between 2–5 years old. Weighing in at just 13–14 lbs, he’s the perfect small companion with a long body and adorable face. We think he may be a mix of pug and chihuahua or corgi.

Duke is truly a lap dog at heart. His favorite place to be is right next to you, soaking up attention and affection. He’s incredibly loving and happiest when he’s close to his person.

He’s also playful and fun, enjoying tennis balls, squeaky toys, treats, and especially cheese. Duke already knows basic commands like sit and shake and is eager to please, making him a great candidate for continued training.

Duke gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves to play and snuggle with his canine friends. He has been exposed to a cat and will chase, but it appears to be playful rather than aggressive. He hasn’t been around children yet, but based on his friendly nature, we believe he would do well.

He enjoys going for walks and is making great progress with potty training, going outside most of the time. One of Duke’s funniest quirks? He absolutely loves water—especially jumping into the bathtub to play with the faucet!

If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will happily curl up in your lap at the end of the day, Duke might be your perfect match!
