Duke's Story

Duke arrived at a shelter with amazing ears, a microchip, and an expectation that his family would be back to reclaim him any minute. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, and now he's a Miri's dog. Duke immediately let his foster family know that he is a real lover boy -- by attempting to make love to pillows, couches, and anyone or anything else that looked soft. Now that he's settled in, he has managed to curb his enthusiasm a little, although the love still shines from his eyes just as brightly.

Duke's prior experience with a family means he knows all about life in a home. He's housetrained (though he may try to mark as he gets adjusted to a new place), sleeps politely through the night, walks well on a leash, and is good with going for car rides. He gets along with the other dogs and adores being around humans and getting lots of pets.

Duke is reasonably active and quite mobile. He's OK with going up and down stairs, sees well, and has some trouble hearing, but still gets by just fine. He would be happy to live with another dog or to be the only dog, whichever you prefer. He would love to have a fenced yard in his new home and will be needing lots of cuddles and snuggles.

Duke loves:
Love
The yard
Comfy bed
Giving kisses
Chew toys
Outside time
Grooming his foster brother
Sitting for treats
Sleeping
Following you around like a shadow
Meal time

He does not love having to live without you.
